Welcome!!!

England went smokefree on 1st July 2007 after a lengthy and intensive consultation involving many cities and communities like Rotherham. Our Government is clearly committed to ensuring that the public and workplace are protected from the dangers of secondhand smoke.

This website aims to give you all the information you might need, reasons behind going smokefree and practical guidance on how to take action now!!!

In Rotherham, the process of going smokefree has been driven by Smokefree Rotherham, a partnership of voluntary and statutory organisations working towards making more smokefree work and public places.

National surveys provide overwhelming support for more smokefree work and public places.1,2 &3 The Local Strategic Partnership (LSP) in Rotherham which is a high level network of representatives from key organisations in the borough agreed to support early progress towards smokefree public and workplaces in Rotherham.
